Existing Augusta County Student/Families: Registering a New Student for Enrollment at WMS

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS

STEP ONE: Complete Existing Families Online Registration by Clicking this Link (and click on Existing Families Green Box)

Log in to your portal and click the link at bottom of the the left sidebar “Online Registration"

STEP TWO: After you have completed online registration, the parent or guardian must bring the following documents to the school.

  • PROOF OF RESIDENCY: Per the School Board of Augusta County, you must submit ONE of the following documents to verify residence; they must be dated within the last 60 days, and only originals are accepted:

    • Lease Agreement or rent receipt with address indicated and signed by both parties

    • Mortgage contract or payment receipt with address indicated

And ONE of the following documents:

  • Utility bill (water, gas, electric, cable, or landline phone)

  • Personal property tax bill or receipt

  • Pay stub with address indicated

  • Bank statement with address indicated

NOTES: A driver’s license or state-issued ID does NOT serve as valid proof of residency. If you reside with someone else, you will be required to complete the Proof of Augusta County Residency (Notarized A & B) and submit a copy of the householder’s lease or mortgage agreement.

  • CUSTODY DOCUMENTS: Official court documents must be presented indicating which parent has primary physical custody of a child who does not reside with both biological parents.

  • BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND SOCIAL SECURITY CARD

     

  • VIRGINIA SCHOOL ENTRANCE HEALTH FORM (physical): this can usually be faxed from former VA school.

    • ***IF you are new to Virginia, you will also need to get a Virginia physical and have the doctor complete the Virginia School Entrance Health Form.

       

  • HEALTH INFORMATION: A record of up-to-date immunizations can usually be faxed from the former school or your physician's office.  ALL rising 6th grade students MUST have the tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) booster shot prior to entry into the school. This would also include vision or hearing evaluations and medication permission forms.  

     

  • FORMER SCHOOL: You will need to sign a records release form with your student’s former school information so we may request transfer of school records (grades, SOL scores, attendance, behavior, etc)

     

  • ALL SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS: Current IEP, Eligibility Committee Minutes, 504 Plan)
